Lviv National Medical University, also known as Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University, is one of the oldest medical universities in Ukraine. The university has been conferred the Level VI accreditation, making it one of the top medical universities in the country. It was started as a medical faculty of the Lviv University on November 16, 1784. In 2019, it celebrated its 225th anniversary. Intake of the University

Classes starts from the month of September every year.It has only 1 Intake. Out of the total seats, Lviv national Medical University has allotted only 150 seats for Indian nationals. Last year in 2018 from the month of July only they have stopped issuing the invitation letter to the Indian students. The reason behind this was that the students from Poland & Arab got their 12th/intermediate result much before we get here. So they had gone to Lviv National Medical University to reserve their seat in advance.So there were many students who were interested for Lviv but couldn’t get seat in month of August itself.


The Lviv National Medical University offers separate hostels for boys and girls. The hostels are located inside the campus near the main academic buildings. There are a total of 8 hostels; all of them well equipped with all essential amenities such as bed, AC, wi-fi access, study tables and wardrobes etc. There also is a central heating system in all the hostels to ensure maximum comfort to the students. Internet club, reading room, canteen, cafe and gym are some of the other facilities of the Lviv National Medical University hostels.

The university’s hostel is not only for Indian students ,the students are there from allover the world.Thesstudents are from Poland,Arab,Germany. So the university has provided separate hostel for them as well.

Fee Structure of Lviv National Medical University

Admission Process in Lviv National Medical University

The admission procedure for Lviv National Medical University is very easy and simple. Students who wish to study at Lviv National Medical University are required to furnish their educational documents for the application process to the University along with documents like 12th Marksheet, passport, NEET Score Card and two photographs to MBBS ASIST .

After submission of the documents the student will receive the admission letter within 1-2 days and the Invitation letter from the Ministry within 15-20 days confirming his admission.

Next the Visa Process will start which takes maximum 10 days time.

After the Visa is done the candidate is ready to fly.


The following eligibility criteria should be met by Indian students in order to get admission to Lviv National Medical University

  • Passed 10+2 or equivalent from any recognized education board in science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as the main subjects and English as a compulsory subject.
  • Applicants seeking admission in MBBS in Lviv National Medical University has to score a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology combined at the 10+2 level.
  • The applicant has to take the entrance test conducted by the University and must obtain the minimum cut-off marks to be eligible to enroll.
  • The applicant must have his/ her educational certificates translated into Ukrainian language and have them duly attested at the Ukraine Embassy.
  • The applicant must be of at least 17 years of age at the time of applying for the MBBS program.
  • The applicant must hold a valid passport.

In addition, the university demands that the applicant be of sound physical and mental health, testimonials of which have to be furnished at the time of admission. The candidate must be able to provide medical certificates stating the same. The applicant is also required to undergo HIV test as a mandatory clause for admission.

Krok Exam

Krok is a mandatory exam which is held in the country of Ukraine for the Medical students. All the foreign candidates have to appear for the test which is compulsory. The time duration of the test is four hours. Without this exam students are not allotted with medical degree, if they don’t pass in the exam. Generally there are two patterns of exam Krok 1 and Krok 2. Students have to clear both the exams. The exam pattern is very easy and simple. All the questions are objective type with four to five answers provided. The students have to choose the correct answer from the given list. For the correct answer they will be given one point and any wrong answer will give them zero. The answer sheet is checked very thoroughly with computer scanned machine.

There are certain guidelines which the students need to follow in the examination hall. They are not allowed to carry any additional items with them other than the required materials for writing the exam. If they disregard any rules implemented by the authority members of the exam. Then they are discarded from appearing the exam and fail in the exam.

The exam is quite strict and the students are not even allowed to talk during the exams with any of the student. If he finishes his exam then he can simply hand over the answer sheet and the other materials to the official representative present in the auditorium and leave the room in silence without disturbing any one.
